Headshot of Jonathan Macchiaroli

Jonathan is from Long Island, NY and currently resides in Miami, FL.

He is currently pursuing two Bachelor’s degrees at the University of Miami in Legal Studies and Spanish, with minors in International Business and Psychology. Jonathan is highly involved on campus, serving as Community Service Chair for his fraternity and Director of Business Development for Orange Umbrella, a full service student-run consultancy at the University of Miami.

Academically, Jonathan finds passion in research, and has written award-winning research papers. His most recent paper, “Movimientos marcados por métodos multifacéticos y multifuncionales: Examinando los productos culturales más emblemáticos de la Movida Madrileña,” examines a variety of cultural products from the 1980s movement in Spain concurrent with the post-Franco transition to democracy. It further explores discrepancies in medical treatment access among marginalized communities at the time. This paper garnered the Balseiro Award, which is given to the writer of an analytical paper in Spanish upon completion of a committee review. In addition to his goal of pursuing law school, Jonathan aspires to channel his passion for research into a long-term goal of earning a Ph.D.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys going to the gym, being at the beach, and socializing as much as possible. Aside from enjoying going out in Miami with friends, he also loves to spend quality time with his family and credits his parents for his self-determination and drive.
