Maria Passo was born in Bahia, Brazil, but has lived for over 14 years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She obtained a Juris Doctor equivalent from IBMEC – Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais in 2019, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She obtained a Master of Laws Degree in International Arbitration from the University of Miami School of Law in 2020, where she received a merit-based scholarship. Maria has over three years of experience in Brazilian complex litigation and arbitration disputes, and a one-year experience with corporate matters. During her LL.M. studies, Maria interned for Shutts & Bowen LLP, and John H. Rooney, Jr., P.A. She was approved in the Brazilian Bar Examination in 2019, and recently sat for the New York Bar Examination in 2021.
On a Personal Note: In her free time, Maria enjoys going to the beach, staying active, and spending time with her family.
