Originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, and raised in Homestead, Florida, Luis Chacin earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. He is currently a rising 3L at the University of Miami School of Law, where he is pursuing a joint JD/LLM in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law. Highly engaged in his campus community, Luis serves as the Treasurer for the Hispanic Law Student Association and as the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review. He is particularly interested in corporate transactional law, corporate litigation, and intellectual property, recognizing that a deep understanding of litigation inherently strengthens transactional practice, and vice versa. Outside of his legal studies, Luis is a sports enthusiast who enjoys playing and watching games, exploring new dining spots, and living by the motto, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
