Miami business law firm connects with Colombian entrepreneurs and investors planning their next move into the U.S. market

MIAMI, FL (October 1, 2026): EPGD Business Law sponsored the second edition of the US-Colombia Legal, Business & Investment Expo on September 30, 2026, at Centro Empresarial El Poblado in Medellín, Colombia. Led by the Cámara de Comercio de Medellín para Antioquia through its Programa de Internacionalización, in alliance with AmCham Colombia (Antioquia y Caldas) and the Colombian American Bar Association (ColBar), the one-day forum brought together Colombian business owners, investors, and U.S. and Colombian law firms focused on business, investment, and expansion between the two countries.
What Was the US-Colombia Legal, Business & Investment Expo?
The Expo is a forum for Colombian entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals exploring opportunities in the United States. Chaired by Paula C. Arias, Esq., on behalf of Colbar and presented in Spanish, the program combined expert panels with an exhibition and networking zone where attendees met directly with participating firms.
The agenda covered three core questions for Colombian companies looking north:
- Doing Business in the United States in 2026: risks, opportunities, and expansion strategies
- Capital, Investment, and Growth: how to attract U.S. partners and investors
- Immigration to the United States: legal pathways for individuals, families, and businesses
The day opened with welcome remarks from Cámara de Comercio leaders Jorge Villegas Betancur and John Fredy Pulgarín Sierra and included an AmCham interview with María Clara Múnera Vélez and Patrick Powers

EPGD’s Role at the Expo
EPGD Business Law was one of 15 firms and organizations in the Expo’s exhibition zone. Eric Gros-Dubois, Founding Partner, met with attendees throughout the day to discuss U.S. entity formation, cross-border transactions, contracts, and corporate structuring for foreign-owned companies.

Colombian companies expanding into the U.S. need more than a market strategy. They need the right entity, contracts, and governance in place from day one. Being in Medellín lets us start those conversations before decisions are made,” said Eric Gros-Dubois, Founder of EPGD Business Law.

The Expo follows the bilingual networking event EPGD co-hosted with NERO Immigration Law in El Poblado in August 2026, part of the firm’s ongoing work with businesses operating between Colombia and the United States.

Why It Matters for Colombian Companies Entering the U.S.
Entity choice, contracts, tax treatment, and immigration status are connected decisions. Addressing them together at the planning stage helps companies avoid costly restructuring, compliance gaps, and disputes after they launch in the U.S.
